Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Egypt’s Petroleum Minister Tarek Al-Molla rebutted news reports revealing that he paid a visit to Iran on Sunday to have new oil deals after Saudi Arabia suspended its oil agreement last month.

Earlier, Reuters reported that the minister paid a visit to Iran on Sunday to have new oil deals after Saudi Arabia suspended its oil agreement last month, clarifying that Al-Molla is to meet several senior Iranian officials to discuss the possibility of managing oil supplies from Tehran.

“Reports over Egypt’s attempts to secure oil supplies from Tehran are incorrect”, Al-Molla told Mubasher on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).

The minister assured that there are no further updates on the Saudi suspension of its oil supply agreement.

The Saudi halt of oil supplies came after Egypt voted for a UN resolution on Syria in early October that excluded calls to stop bombing Aleppo, which Saudi Arabia opposed.
