Egypt’s petroleum ministry denies approving Israeli gas deal

Cairo – Mubasher: The petroleum ministry has not approved the Israeli gas export deal yet, the ministry’s spokesperson Hamdi Abdel Aziz told Al Hayah Al Youm talkshow.

Under a $15 billion deal, an Egyptian private company, Dolphinus Holdings, will import natural gas from Israel upon a commercial pact which is not related to the Egyptian government, he added.

On Monday, 19 February Israeli Delek Group has announced that the partners in Israel’s Tamar and Leviathan offshore gas fields have signed two 10-year deals worth a combined $15 billion to sell natural gas to Egypt’s Dolphinus Holdings.
