Egypt’s planning minister approves EGP 149m for development programmes

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of planning approved the allocation of EGP 149 million for local development programmes as part of the country’s plan for fiscal year 2018/2019.

The allocated amount includes EGP 18 million for projects in the governorate of Giza, along with EGP 28 million evenly for Cairo and Al-Sharqiya governorates, and EGP 12 million for Al-Dakahlia governorate, Hala El Saeed said in a statement on Sunday.

Road paving projects accounted for EGP 61 million of the total allocated amount, while electricity grid extension projects made up EGP 42 million. 

In April, El Saeed earmarked EGP 120 million for development projects in the Upper Egypt governorate of Aswan and Nasr El Nouba as well as EGP 193 million to projects in Beni Suef governorate.
