Egypt’s public expenditures records EGP 235.3 billion in four months

Cairo – Mubasher: The salaries as well as the interest on the country’s public debt have accounted for 62.7% of Egypt’s total public expenditures in four months, said the monthly bulletin published by the Ministry of Finance.

The country’s total public expenditures have reached nearly EGP 235.3 billion during the first four months of the fiscal year 2016/17, up by 6.4% from EGP 221.12 billion a year earlier.

The spending on salaries amounted to EGP 70.55 billion during this four – month period, compared with EGP 70.15 billion for the similar period of the preceding year.

Egypt state budget for the fiscal year 2016/17 have reflected EGP 228.7 billion being allocated for salaries.

The report also showed that the cost of debt service has amounted to EGP 77.06 billion during this four – month period of FY16/17.
