Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports of ready-made garments grew by 4.4% year-on-year to $802 million during the first half of 2019 from $768 million, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
As for June, ready-made garments exported by the North African nation increased by 11% to $122 million from $110 million in the same month a year earlier, according to a report released by the Readymade Garments Export Council of Egypt.
The US topped countries importing ready-made garments from Egypt with a value of $450 million in H1-19, rising by 19% year-on-year from $378 million.
In addition, Egypt’s ready-made garments exported to Arab countries surged by 24% to $40 million from $30 million.
Meanwhile, ready-made garments exported by Egypt to European Countries dropped by 7% to $239 million from $258 million, while ready-made garments exported by Egypt to African countries plunged by 60% to about $604,000 from $1.5 million.
