Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s urban development strategy annually requires EGP100 billion until 2030 for developing 500 residential units and increasing urban areas by 80,000 acres, said Fathallah Fawzy, the co-founder of Mena for Touristic and Real Estate Development.
Around EGP25 billion should be allocated for building residential units as well as increasing urban areas, while infrastructure schemes for the targeted housing projects will take a greater share of EGP75 billion, Fawzy added in his opening speech at Cityscape conference.
The Egyptian government targets to build 154,000 units under the program of social housing in 2016, according to Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Housing.
