Egypt’s scientific research budget reached EGP 21bn

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt is increasing spending on scientific research, as it recently reached EGP 21 billion, compared to no more than EGP 17.8 billion in the previous years, according to the minister of higher education Khalid Abd El-Ghaffar.

The minister remarks were made during the National Conference for Scientific Research, under the theme “Unleashing the Potentials of Egyptians”, which was inaugurated by President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday.

Abd El-Ghaffar added that the science and technology fund is financing around 2,126 research project, with a total investment of EGP 1.9 billion, noting that the ministry is expecting investments to reach EGP 2.3 billion by 2022.
