Egypt’s sovereign wealth fund joins IFSWF – Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s sovereign wealth fund has joined the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF), the planning and administrative reform minister said.

The IFSWF has recently approved Egypt’s request to be a full member of the London-based forum for three years, Hala Al-Saeed, who doubles as acting executive director of Egypt’s sovereign wealth fund, added in a recent statement.

Established in 2008, the IFSWF is a voluntary organisation of global sovereign wealth funds committed to working together and strengthening the community through dialogue, research and self-assessment.

Al-Saeed added that the forum represents a group of more than 30 sovereign wealth funds from all corners of the globe, with a variety of mandates and at various stages in their development.

The IFSWF’s main focus is to help its members to raise their expected risk-adjusted returns by regularly bringing its members together to share their perspectives on specific governance, investment and operational issues.

Moreover, the Egyptian fund is working with academic and practitioner experts to help members fulfil their mandate in an increasingly challenging and complex investment environment.
