Cairo – Mubasher: Tax revenue from non-sovereign entities rose to EGP 412 billion during the first half of fiscal year 2019/2020, Egypt's vice minister of finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, said.
The country’s economy grew by 5.5% in the July-December period of 2019 and 5% in the January-March period of 2020, Kouchouk added in a statement on Wednesday.
Moreover, the most populous Arab nation achieved a primary surplus of EGP 40.4 billon, compared to EGP 35.6 billion in the year-ago period.
Petroleum trade surplus exceeded EGP 20 billion for the first time in years, while government investment allocations increased to EGP 113 billion.
