Cairo – Mubasher: The value of Egypt’s tax revenues rose 20.9% in the first half of the fiscal year 2015/16, said Finance Minister Hani Dimian.
The country’s total tax revenues amounted to EGP 137.9 billion in H1- FY15/16, compared with EGP 114.1 billion for the same period a year earlier.
The rise is attributed to the increase in tax on income and capital gains by 16.4% to nearly EGP 45.7 billion in H1, , noted Dimian.
The tax proceeds from goods & services and properties grew 16.9% and 23.2% respectively.
Egypt’s government eyes EGP 422.4 billion tax revenues in FY15/16, up from EGP 305.9 billion a year earlier.
