Cairo – Mubasher: Total tax revenues have registered about 72% of the estimates of fiscal year 2017/2018 budget, finance minister Amr El-Garhy said in a statement on Wednesday.
The tax has ranged between 13% and 14% of the North African nation’s gross domestic product (GDP), El-Garhy added.
The Arab world's most populous country is looking forward to boosting these percentages through a development strategy prepared by the finance ministry over the current year, he indicated.
The minister had previously said that Egypt’s total tax revenues surged 31.8% year-on-year for FY16/17 to EGP 464.4 billion from EGP 325.3 billion.
