Egypt’s taxpayers have nine days to get 90% off late fees

Cairo – Mubasher: Taxpayers have nine days to pay their respective taxes in order to be exempted from paying 90% of the additional late payment fees, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, Reda Abdel Kader, said.  

Under the new law no 173 of 2020, 90% of the fees will be waived if the taxes are paid up until 15 October, 70% if paid between 16 October and 14 December, and 50% if paid between 15 December and 12 February 2021, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The new regulation is in line with the country’s efforts to support businesses in the face of the coronavirus crisis.
