Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s telecommunication and information technology (IT) sector achieved a 16% growth, the highest rate among the countries sectors, during the first quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019, communications minister said during a press conference.
The IT exports recorded $3.2 billion, state-run news agency MENA reported, citing Amr Talaat.
The minister previously projected the sector’s investment would stand at $100 million in the next two years.
The communications ministry aims to boost the sector’s contribution to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) to 5% I within the coming three years, according to Talaat.
