Egypt’s textile city to start operation end-2019

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian trade minister on Monday said that the first phase of the textile industries city in Sadat city is currently being built.

The first phase of the city is set to commence production and operation by the end of 2019, Amr Nassar added in a statement.

Egypt is seeking to build 13 industrial complexes for the small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in 12 governorates, including 4,317 industrial units in 2019.

In January, the Egyptian government announced plans to establish the biggest industrial city for textile and clothes manufacturing over 3.1 million square metres in Sadat city.

The city will feature 568 factories with a total paid-up capital of $2 billion to be injected within seven years.
