Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports of textiles amounted to $561 million during the first nine months of 2020 as the sector recovered during the third quarter (Q3) after being hit hard by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Thursday.
Textile exports to European countries dropped by 14% year-on-year (YoY) to $146 million during the January-September period.
Meanwhile, Arab countries received textile exports worth $145 million from Egypt during the nine-month period, down by 16% from the year-ago period, while exports to African countries increased by 11% to $28 billion.
Turkey was the top destination for Egypt’s textile exports with a value of $200 million, followed by Italy with $70 million.
