Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s tourism revenues surged by 29.5% year-on-year during the first nine months of fiscal year 2018/2019, data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed.
From July 2018 to last March, tourism revenues in the North African nation increased to $9.391 billion from $7.250 billion in the prior-year period.
Meanwhile, the services surplus soared by 25.64% to $9.8 billion, compared to $7.8 billion.
Egypt's balance of payments (BOP) registered a lower deficit of $351.2 million in the nine-month period ended 31 March, supported by an overall surplus of $1.4 billion.
