Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's trade balance deficit reached EGP 29.49 billion in September, representing a 22.1% decrease compared to EGP 37.89 billion in the same month last year, the state-run statistical body CAPMAS reported on Wednesday.
State exports value reached EGP 11.12 billion in September, down 25.4% from EGP 14.90 billion in September 2014, due to a drop in the prices of certain goods such as crude oil, clothes and primary form plastics.
Meanwhile, imports value slid by 23% to EGP 40.61 billion, from EGP 52.76 billion during the same month a year earlier.
According to the report, the decline in imports value was due to the decrease in the value of certain goods such as primary form steel, wheat and vehicles.
