Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's trade balance deficit reached EGP 27.9 billion in August , representing a 25.7% decrease compared to EGP 37.5 billion in the same month last year, the state-run statistical body CAPMAS reported on Wednesday.
State exports value reached EGP 13.1 billion in August, down 14.4% from EGP 15.3 billion in August 2014, due to a drop in the prices of certain goods such as crude oil, clothes and primary form plastics.
Meanwhile, imports value slid by 22.5% to EGP 41 billion, from EGP 52.9 billion during the same month a year earlier.
According to the report, the decline in imports value was due to the decrease in the value of certain goods such as primary form steel, wheat and vehicles.
