Egypt’s treasury-bill yields record 3-month high

Cairo – Mubasher: Yields on 91-day and 266-day treasury bills grew on Sunday, marking its highest level in three months, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The average yield on the 91-day bills registered 19.17% increase and was oversubscribed by 170%, while the average yield on the 266-day bills grew 18.74% and was oversubscribed by 130%, the Egyptian Ministry of Finance stated. 

Earlier on Sunday, the CBE offered EGP 15.5 billion treasury bills, according to an official statement.

The Egyptian debt instruments have attracted many foreign investors, given that their yields went up to over 20%.
