Cairo – Mubasher: The total planted area of wheat in Egypt will reach more than 3 million feddans in the coming two to three days, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the head of services and follow-up at the Ministry of Agriculture, Abbas El-Shennawi, as saying.
The world’s largest wheat importer seeks to plant a total of 3.5 million feddans this season which started in mid-November 2019, El-Shennawi added.
During the last season, the North African nation harvested 8.5 million tonnes of local wheat from about 3.16 million feddans.
