Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's strategic wheat reserves are enough to last until early next June, the country's Supply Minister Khaled Hanafi said in a statement on Saturday.
Egypt's state-owned General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) agreed to buy 240,000 tonnes of Russian and French wheat in a global tender.
The minister added that 180,000 tonnes will be imported from Russia and 60,000 tonnes from France at an average price of $193.9 per tonne, noting that supply will start on 15 March for ten days.
