Cairo – Mubasher: The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is in talks with a number of the international financing institutions, including Agence Francaise De Developpement (AFD) to obtain an EUR 500 million syndicated loan.
The NAT aims to finance the final phase of Cairo Metro’s line 3, which starts with Heliopolis station to the Cairo International Airport, through the loan.
Construction at the el Salam-New Capital electric train, financed by China, will be completed soon, a source familiar with the matter told Almal News.
Egypt had received an EUR 300 million on Sunday, 27 May as the first tranche of the EUR 900 million loan provided by the AFD and the European Investment Bank (EIB) to finance the third line of Cairo Metro.
