Dubai - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of transportation, Hesham Arafat, called upon global companies to cooperate in partnerships with the government to develop the country’s rail sector.
The minister said on Tuesday, during his speech at the Middle East Rail exhibition in Dubai, that there are many investment opportunities in Egyptian railways.
The Egyptian government aims at transforming the railways from a traditional network to an innovated smart network, which requires huge investments, the minister indicated.
Demand on rail transport is currently increasing, Arafat noted, which requires upgrading the current networks, and raising the number of trains to increase coverage and reach new areas
