Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian government aims at reducing the budget deficit to 4% of GDP, according to finance minister Amr Elgarhy.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) collects a major amount of revenues, such as customs and taxes, electronically, and the use of e-Systems will be expanded across all public entities in the upcoming period, the minister added.
The country’s budget deficit recorded 12.5% of GDP in 2015 and 2016.
