Mubasher: Egypt’s tourism revenues surged 123.5% year-on-year to $7.6 billion in 2017, an unnamed government official told Reuters on Saturday.
During that time, the number of tourists visiting Egypt increased by 54% to 8.3 million.
Tourism revenues jumped 211.8% during the first nine months of 2017 to $5.3 billion, compared to $1.7 billion in the same period of the previous year.
Last year, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast Egypt’s tourism revenues will rise in the fiscal year 2017/2018 by as much as 25.7%.
