Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Housing's New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) is close to inaugurate the first phase of “Mamshah Ahl Masr” (Walk of Egypt), a public promenade overlooking the Nile River, located between Imbaba Bridge and 15th May Bridge, at a length of 1.8 kilometres (km) and a cost of about EGP 600 million.
In August, City Edge Developments, as a representative of NUCA, signed a nine-year contract with Counsel Masters to manage and operate the commercial part of the “Mamshah Ahl Masr”.
The promenade includes an upper walkway with a width of 4.5 meters and a lower one with a width of 6.5 metres over a total area of 7,066 square metres (sqm). It includes 90 shops, restaurants, and coffee shops as well as an open theatre with an area of 434 sqm and 300 kiosks for foreign and Arab services and commercial activities.
The project's master plan reveals that the first sector includes a 4.7-km walkway along the Corniche.
The second sector includes a southern part extending from Kasr El-Nile Bridge to Sixth of October Bridge for 0.8 km and from Sixth of October Bridge to 15th May Bridge for 1.1 km and a northern part that extends over 1.3 km from Imbaba Bridge to El-Sahel Bridge.
