Egypt spends EGP 63bn so far to support efforts against coronavirus

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has so far spent EGP 63 billion out of total EGP 100 billion allocated to finance the country’s efforts against the coronavirus (COVID-19) under the directives of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The finance ministry is committed to providing the monthly allocations for the required services and commodities, Maait added in a statement on Monday.

An additional EGP 11 billion has been allocated to support the health sector across all governorates.

In addition, the government supported the local industry sector with EGP 16.6 billion.

Over the April-June period, a total of EGP 3 billion has been injected to the Export Development Fund and EGP 5 billion has been arranged to support the tourism and civil aviation sectors.
