Egypt starts 2nd phase of vocational education reform programme

Cairo - Mubasher: The head of the European cooperation sector discussed the second phase of the European Union-funded programme to support the reform of vocational education and technical training, according to the Egyptian ministry of international cooperation.

The total cost of the programme amounts to EUR 117 million (EGP 1.16 billion), of which EUR 50 million (EGP 495.88 million) are provided by the EU, while the remaining EUR 67 million (EGP 664.47 million) are paid by the Egyptian side.

The programme aims at enhancing the employability of Egyptian youth, unemployed and low-skilled workers and improving their transition to employment, through the development and implementation of training programmes.
