Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is looking to double its industrial growth rate to 11% in the fiscal year 2021/2022 from only 5% in the previous fiscal year, the country’s planning minister said in a statement on Monday.
Egypt is planning to provide around 5.5 million jobs in the industrial sector compared to 3 million presently, Hala El Saeed revealed.
The country relies heavily on the industrial sector as the population continues to grow, the minister went on, indicating that Egypt enjoys a demographic advantage of having 60% of its population under the age of 30.
The industrial sector is a major driver of Egypt’s development and economic growth as it collaborates with various other sectors, El Saeed stressed.
