Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Egypt will reach self-sufficiency with natural gas by 2021, said Petroleum Minister Tarek Al-Molla on Tuesday.
Over the past two years, Egypt inked 56 oil agreements worth more than $13 billion and dug a minimum of 254 wells, according to data issued by the petroleum ministry.
“The multinational oil and gas company Eni will pump $12 billion investments in Dahr field during the first three years”, the minister told Mubasher on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).
A significant number of new gas fields were discovered in Egypt earlier, including the Mediterranean’s largest field Zohr and Dahr field.
