Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian housing minister Mostafa Madbouli projected that six desalination plants out of 19 under-construction ones could begin operation by the end of 2018.
Madbouli remarked that the six plants, which are part of the national water grid, are set to add approximately 1.6 million cubic metres of water per day, according to Al-Ahram Gate.
The Egyptian government is aiming to boost desalination capacity to 2.6 million cubic metres a day by 2037 and is working on introducing some incentives to encourage the private sector to invest in water desalination.
