Egypt to cut unemployment rates to 9% in FY19/20

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt aims to slash unemployment rates to 9% in fiscal year 2019/2020, official data revealed on Monday.

The government is looking to support the country’s economy and productivity with higher allocations to boost growth rates and provide an adequate number of jobs, according to the preliminary financial statement on the general budget draft for FY19/20.

In February, prime minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that Egypt’s unemployment rate fell to 9.9% year-on-year in 2018.
