Egypt to generate 42% of electricity from renewables by 2025

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt seeks to generate 42% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2025, electricity minister Mohamed Shaker told Bloomberg.

The North African country will start to receive bids for 600-megawatt wind power soon, Shaker said at a conference in Cairo.

In November, Alborsa newspaper repoprted that the minister would inaugurate the first solar park in Egypt’s Aswan on 8 November 2017.
