Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt will completely stop importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) by the end of 2018, according to the Egyptian minister of petroleum, Tarek El Molla.
The minister added in a press conference on Saturday that imports will continue until the end of the first half of next year, as a number of commitments and agreements with international companies are still ongoing.
Local LNG production has recently witnessed a surge, especially with new quantities from the Taurus and Libra fields that added around 700 million cubic feet, while the Zohr field will gradually increase production by 1 billion cubic feet, El Molla added.
