Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, announced that the universal health insurance scheme is planned to be fully implemented over 10 years.
During the inauguration of the integrated medical complex in Ismailia, El-Sisi pointed out that the scheme was originally planned to be implemented in 15 years, according to state-run TV.
The president inaugurated several major health projects via video conference, namely El-Agami Central Hospital in Alexandria, Abu Tig Hospital in Assiut, Baltim Hospital in Kafr El-Sheikh, Esna Central Hospital in Luxor, and the National Complex of Serums and Vaccines in Helwan.
The Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, said that the annual growth in population by 2 million people costs the country an additional amount of EG 54.4 billion per year for building new hospitals and medical centres.
