Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has offered a tender to buy 50,000 tonnes of sugar, said Mohamed Ali, the supply minister, on Wednesday.
The government is expected to receive this amount on two periods: 15-30 October and 1-15 November, the minister stated.
Egypt consumes 3.2 million tonnes of sugar annually, while producing 2 million tons, according to data issued by the agricultural ministry.
