Cairo – Mubasher: Drilling activities in the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Phase 9b gas development project are expected to start in April, with a total cost of $807 million, the Egyptian Petroleum Ministry said in a statement released on Monday.
The maiden production of the first three wells in the WDDM Phase 9b project would begin in the coming fiscal year, the ministry added, noting that the project is executed by both Egypt’s petroleum sector and Royal Dutch Shell.
The ninth phase includes drilling of 10 wells, chairman of Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco) Hisham Al-Attar stated, giving no further details on the timeframe of drilling operations.
Engineering and designing works were awarded to Enppi and Wood Group Kenny, while manufacturing and installation of required equipment was awarded to Italy’s Saipem, the top official revealed.
