Egypt to invest EGP 2.6bn in agriculture projects – Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government is planning to invest around EGP 2.6 billion in agricultural projects in fiscal year 2018/2019, Agriculture Minister Ezz Eddin Abostait has said.

A group of international financial institutions will provide loans for agricultural business in Sinai governorates over the next period, he added.

The minister further noted that the government would support projects in Sharq El Owainat in southwest Egypt and Toshka in a bid to develop the North African nation’s agricultural sector, livestock production, and fisheries.

On a side note, Abostait indicated that rice prices will decrease as of next September.
