Egypt to invest EGP 9.76bn in wholesale, retail trade in FY20/21

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued a report outlining the objectives of the supply and internal trade sector in fiscal year 2020/2021.

The strategic objectives include securing a strategic reserve of basic commodities sufficient for three to six months and expanding the internal trade scope to increase its contribution to economic growth, the Minister of Planning, Hala El-Saeed, said in a statement on Tuesday.

The government is looking to inject EGP 9.76 billion into the wholesale and retail trade sector in the current fiscal year, accounting for 1.3% of total planned investments, she revealed.
