By: Ahmed Allam

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of finance, Amr El-Garhy, on Monday said that Egypt is currently working on the preparation of an $8 billion foreign bonds programme, in coordination with global stock markets.

El-Garhy noted, on the sidelines of the Euromoney Conference, that Egypt will issue dollar-denominated bonds worth $3 billion to $4 billion, in addition to Euro-denominated bonds at EUR 1.5 billion.

The minister continued that these bonds will be part of the foreign bonds programme to finance Egypt’s financing gap, adding that the offering will start during the first quarter of 2018.
