Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) plans to issue treasury bills and bonds worth EGP 22 billion ($2.47 billion) over the week, through six issuances with different maturity dates.
On Thursday, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will issue T-bills worth EGP 9.5 billion with maturity dates of 182 days and 364 days, the MoF said in a statement on its official website on Wednesday.
It added that it will issue T-bills also worth EGP 9.5 billion on Sunday, but with maturity dates of 91 days and 273 days.
The MoF will also issue 5 and 10-year treasury bonds worth EGP 2.5 billion and EGP 500 million, respectively.
The issuances are carried out in coordination with the CBE.
Domestic debt has increased to EGP 2.49 trillion by the end of March 2016 due to a rise T-bill and treasury bond issuances.
