Egypt to issue EGP 99.2bn debt instruments

Cairo-Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Finance plans to issue EGP 99.25 billion in treasury bills and bonds during September, compared to EGP 99.75 billion in August, according to a statement.

The government uses the debt instruments to bridge the country’s budget deficit.

The country’s budget deficit stood at EGP 311 billion during July 2015 to May 2016, representing 11.2% of the gross domestic product.
