Egypt to issue U.S. dollar-denominated certificate “Biladi”

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt will launch on Tuesday U.S. dollar-denominated certificate, named “Biladi”, for Egyptians abroad, through the branches of National Bank of Egypt, ​Banque Misr and Banque du Caire, according to Nabila Makram, minister of immigration and affairs of Egyptians abroad.

The certificate suits all customer requirements with one, three and five year term, at a fixed return by 3.5% per annum for one year, 4.5% for three years, and 5.5% for five years ,according to Makram

The minister added that the three and five-years certificates can be redeemed in full with the same issuance currency after six months of the effective date, and the one-year certificate can be redeemed after its expiry.
