Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Transportation has finished the first phase of the new Dekhela axis, according to an official statement.
The project, which is set to be opened before the end of 2017, consists of a 2.3 kilometre road, as well as a 1.3 kilometre Dekhela Port bridge, and the 0.73 km Taameer Bridge, with a total cost of nearly EGP 370 million, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The second phase will begin from the intersection between the new axis and the Tameer axis through a hanging bridge, said the ministry’s spokesperson.
Mohamed Ezz added that the ministry previously announced the completion of Phase 1, in time with the celebrations of 30 June.
