Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government is planning to electronically connect 33,000 government buildings through fibre-optic cables, Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, stated on Thursday.
The government is executing a national plan to build a network of fibre-optic cables across the country and digitalise government services, Talaat added, according to the Middle East News Agency.
The minister noted that the electronic connectivity project is set to be completed within 36 months, with a total cost of EGP 6 billion.
The first phase includes connecting 5,000 government buildings, Talaat said.
