Cairo – Mubasher: The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) will soon launch the second phase of Egypt’s new capital, according to the company spokesperson Khaled El-Hussainy.
The most recent meeting between the company and the ministry of housing witnessed the approval for the green river project, according to the initial plan, the spokesperson added.
He also indicated that by 2020, the President, the Parliament, and the Cabiner will move to the governmental district in the new capital, as per the orders of President Abdelfattah El-Sisi.
The New Capital is the first smart city in Egypt, with plans to build 14 more smart cities across the republic.
A French delegation will visit the new capital on Wednesday to witness the public transportation projects, especially the electric train and the monorail, El-Hussainy noted, adding that An American delegation recently praised the project and showed interest in new investments.
The company has allocated 70% of the 40,000-feddan first phase, from a total area of 170,000 feddans.
