Egypt to launch unified e-banking

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is planning to launch the unified electronic banking, the communication minister said.

This service will allow citizens to complete all financial transactions electronically by using an all-in-one card that includes subsidies, salaries, and expenses, state-run news agency MENA reported, citing Amr Talaat.

Electronic banking will cover all the country’s entities, the minister added.

The ministry supports small-sized enterprises to get financings through simple and easy procedures that encourage creativity and entrepreneurship, he stressed.

Moreover, Talaat said that a number of technicians have been trained on the installation and maintenance of optical fibres, pointing out that almost 1,700 youth have been employed.
