Cairo - Mubasher: The international auction for mining gold and tellurides in Egypt is progressing steadily and successfully, the chairman of the General Authority for Mineral Wealth told Mubasher on Tuesday.
Amr Taima added that the auction is still being marketed, with events in South Africa and Canada to be held soon to help promotion.
The number of interested companies and other details will be announced on 20 April, Taima indicated.
The chairman refused to comment on what was reported by Reuters, that Centamin, the only operating gold miner in Egypt, will not bid in the new gold exploration tender.
