Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of trade and industry said that the ministry is preparing to offer 15 million square metres of industrial land provided with infrastructure during this year.
The land plots are spread across 13 governorates, eight of which are located in Upper Egypt.
Tarek Kabil added in a statement on Sunday that part of the project will be offered through the industrial developer system, noting that the Industrial Development Authority is laying out a plan with new terms and conditions for the industrial developer, in order to protect the rights of both the developer and the final investor.
The authority has received requests from Egyptian and foreign entities to establish 15 projects with investments totalling EGP 16 billion.
The minister also indicated that 80% of the projects involve foreign direct investments (FDI) in home appliances, textile and apparel, dyeing, and metal industries.
