Egypt to open 4 new museums in June 2018

Cairo – Mubasher: The Ministry of State of Antiquities will open new four museums prior to the end of next June, Almal News reported, citing minister Khaled El-Anany.

The museums will be inaugurated in Mersa Matruh, Sohag, Bubastis, an ancient city about 80 km to the northeast of Cairo in the eastern Nile Delta, and Tanta, El-Anany added.

The minister also noted that the Statue of Ramesses II will be relocated to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on 25 January.

The ministry is planning to offer the GEM’s management to global firms in the first half of 2018.
